Taking the Next Step to Retirement Living

Retirement is a big step in your life. But it should be a highly enjoyable one.

When you stop working and start drawing your pension, you have the income and time to do everything you’ve ever been passionate about but never had a chance to do. You don’t have any more responsibilities towards your children or work.

While this sounds ideal, retirement can also challenge the way you think about life. Post-work life may require different arrangements, especially as you grow older.

Some things become more difficult, such as taking care of a big home, maintaining, and cleaning it. Smaller things can be annoying: you may not enjoy driving anymore or doing your laundry. Things that up to now seemed like necessary, even enjoyable, parts of your everyday life may now feel like chores.

If you find yourself wishing for an easier, more comfortable life, then you have plenty of options available to you. You can choose an independent living community, for example, where all the everyday responsibilities are tackled by someone else, leaving you with the peace of mind to do whatever you feel like.

Amenities You Will Love

An independent living retirement community combines the safety of an organized community with the independence of living on your own.

Spring Creek Chalet is located in Montrose, Colorado amidst the breathtaking Rockies. We have 20 acres of land with landscaped gardens, orchards, a gazebo, and a pond. Our residents can walk around, garden, or even paint the many stunning vistas available from the garden.

Our independent living establishment has 26 private apartments for single or double occupancy. Each apartment is 500 sq. feet with a bedroom, living room, kitchenette, and ensuite bathroom. A private patio is a perfect place to rest and relax while taking in the majestic views. All our buildings have Internet access, including the apartments.

You don’t have to worry about laundry, housekeeping, or washing as we take care of all that.

The communal areas offer activities and entertainment and are great ways to socialize with other residents. You can join activity groups, outings, and trips to add interest to your life. You have sports, arts and crafts, music, visits, computing, and gardening to enjoy and make part of your daily life.

A selection of delicious and healthy meals is prepared daily by our talented chef, with new menus created on a weekly basis. The freshly made meals are available three times a day. Enjoy them in the communal dining area. A wide choice of scrumptious snacks is available throughout the day as well.

We have a 24/7 on-site presence and the closest emergency services are less than two miles away.

To make your life more enjoyable, we are happy for you to have your pet with you. After all, a home is not a home without a pet!

Planned Activities

We offer plenty of fun activities to fill your days. Besides the garden and various outdoor activities, we have a full-time activity director who organizes social events, trips and outings, on-site entertainment, exercise classes, and educational opportunities.

Shopping and recreation are under a mile away. From the Botanic Gardens to its museums, galleries, and theaters, Montrose offers so much to see and do. Even better, you can enjoy a trip downtown whenever you feel like it without the hassle of driving, as transportation to your appointments or outings is included in the monthly rate.

You can choose whichever activities suit your personality and challenge yourself to try something new. Retirement is the perfect time to do the things you’ve never had the time to try!

Independent living is a great way to enjoy a more pleasant way of life without the difficulties associated with a big home. A big problem of retirement can be isolation and loneliness. An independent living community offers plenty of opportunities to make new friends in a gentle environment.

Make the most of your retirement and enjoy life to the fullest in our independent living community!
